The Kitten Ivy

Bruna Fernandes

We are filled with pride when our customers share their stories with us.

We love to know the tastes, quirks and preferences of each bigeye.

Get to know the story of the kitten Ivy, told by her best friend, Diana.

The arrival to the family

My cousin João has a cat, Maria, who is of childbearing age.

Ivy was born to one of her litters, and when she looked at me with those bright yellow eyes, I thought it might be the beginning of a happy adoption.

So it was, I brought her from Castelo de Paiva to Odivelas, when she was 4 months old.

As a baby, Ivy slept a lot and, like me, would get up angrily if anyone woke her.

It is often said: “Who do you come out to your…”

habits and games

From an early age I got my cat used to walking in the carrier bag, mainly because of the trips to the vet.

She loves to ride a motorcycle with me, inside her spaceship, so from far to far we pay a visit to coach/aunt Sara from Crossfit Odivelas, who also has a cat (Cookie).

More often, Aunt Ju comes over to take care of Ivy when I'm away for a few days, or we go visit her at her house, because Ivy really likes to play with Jackson and Lana (cats) and Maya (dog) Pinscher).

Ivy was used to being outside, playing with her mother and siblings.

So when I brought her to my apartment I tried to play daily games that would make her run, have fun and not get bored.

Like any other feline, Ivy likes to be in high places looking out the window, likes to sharpen her nails on scratching posts around the house and loves to run around chasing laser light.

But what she likes the most is to run after any object that is thrown at her so she can pick it up and bring it back.

Since it's not all jokes, I taught Ivy from an early age to sit when I say "sit", initially making a gesture with her index finger pointed at the floor and giving her a small cookie when she obeyed, and currently I don't need to give a reward anymore.

Yes, I keep talking about my cat

If they are taught from an early age, cats can be very well-behaved, just like dogs.

A strange fact about Ivy is that, although I still haven't figured out why, she runs wild around the house whenever I'm putting the cutlery in the drawer.

After some good runs and fun, Ivy gets tired and goes straight to the Cat H2O water source , which she loves.

The fountain was the best way to get her to drink running water frequently, and Dental Care bars are a great option to help take care of her teeth.

When I start to open the bag of food, Ivy knows it's time to eat and doesn't leave until I put the kibble in the bowl.

Ownat Grain Free Prime Sterilized is my choice since it was sterilized.

Since then, I've noticed that she doesn't need to eat so much to be satiated and at the gastric and intestinal level it has a good influence.

Ownat Grain Free Prime Sterilized - Chicken & Turkey

  • With 50% fresh meat.
  • High content of ingredients of animal origin with high protein content.
  • Low in carbohydrates.

To combat the well-known problem of hairballs, once a week I give Ivy the WeMalt Paste .

Fortunately it has very good results as she has never vomited hairballs.

All this makes Ivy a healthy, fun and happy kitten.

I never thought that a little black fur ball with yellow eyes was able to brighten my days so much!

In the future I hope to find you a company
