betaine

Betaine also called trimethylglycine (TMG) is a substance related to liver function, cell division and is also involved in the synthesis of carnitine (1).

Betaine comes from the metabolism of choline and can give rise to the amino acid glycine when it gives up its methyls.

Within the functions of betaine is to act as an osmoregulator protecting cells, molecules such as proteins and enzymes, and tissues such as the gastric mucosa.

The main metabolic reaction of betaine is the transfer of a methyl group to the homocysteine molecule, thus forming a methionine molecule (1) L-carnitine has different fields of action and its main function is to allow energy to be obtained.

It is a key element for the oxidation of long-chain fatty acids, introducing them into the interior of the mitochondria to release energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

It must be clarified that L-carnitine is not a fat burner, but a transporter that allows fats to be used as an energy source. Without L-carnitine, fat stores cannot be utilized and remain stored in fat tissue cells and in the bloodstream.

Turmeric

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a root that belongs to the Zingiberaceae family. Its orange color comes from the presence of phenolic compounds called curcuminoids. Curcumin (active ingredient) is the main curcuminoid found in turmeric (75%), which is why it is generally considered to be its active compound.

Curcuma has important pharmacological properties, such as; Antioxidant, antimutagenic, anti-inflammatory, antidiarrheal, antiscorbutic (combats scurvy), hepatoprotective, antispasmodic (suppresses muscle spasms), immunomodulatory (acts on the immune system), antiaggregant (prevents platelet aggregation) activity.

In addition, it is related to the reduction of cholesterol levels. For this reason, it is an important ally in the treatment of liver problems.

Cardomarian (Silymarin)

It is a substance present in the Cardo Mariano plant, used for many years for its benefits and therapeutic effects. It is a plant used as an adjuvant in medicine for liver and gallbladder problems, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, chronic liver inflammation, liver damage caused by excess toxins.

It is used in the treatment of chronic liver diseases, cirrhosis, steatosis and hepatotoxic damage.

Silymarin prevents the peroxidation of lipids in the cell membrane and organelles of hepatocytes, thus protecting the integrity and liver function from possible toxic substances, both endogenous and exogenous. It works by increasing messenger RNA synthesis, which accelerates protein synthesis.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an excellent antioxidant, increases the body's defenses and reduces inflammation in the liver.
