The Kitten Ivy

Submitted by info on Wed, 2022-09-07 14:47

We are filled with pride when our customers share their stories with us.

We love to know the tastes, quirks and preferences of each bigeye.

Get to know the story of the kitten Ivy, told by her best friend, Diana.

The arrival to the family

My cousin João has a cat, Maria, who is of childbearing age.

Ivy was born to one of her litters, and when she looked at me with those bright yellow eyes, I thought it might be the beginning of a happy adoption.

So it was, I brought her from Castelo de Paiva to Odivelas, when she was 4 months old.

As a baby, Ivy slept a lot and, like me, would get up angrily if anyone woke her.

It is often said: “Who do you come out to your…”

habits and games

From an early age I got my cat used to walking in the carrier bag, mainly because of the trips to the vet.

She loves to ride a motorcycle with me, inside her spaceship, so from far to far we pay a visit to coach/aunt Sara from Crossfit Odivelas, who also has a cat (Cookie).

More often, Aunt Ju comes over to take care of Ivy when I'm away for a few days, or we go visit her at her house, because Ivy really likes to play with Jackson and Lana (cats) and Maya (dog) Pinscher).

Ivy was used to being outside, playing with her mother and siblings.

So when I brought her to my apartment I tried to play daily games that would make her run, have fun and not get bored.

Like any other feline, Ivy likes to be in high places looking out the window, likes to sharpen her nails on scratching posts around the house and loves to run around chasing laser light.

But what she likes the most is to run after any object that is thrown at her so she can pick it up and bring it back.

Since it's not all jokes, I taught Ivy from an early age to sit when I say "sit", initially making a gesture with her index finger pointed at the floor and giving her a small cookie when she obeyed, and currently I don't need to give a reward anymore.

Yes, I keep talking about my cat

If they are taught from an early age, cats can be very well-behaved, just like dogs.

A strange fact about Ivy is that, although I still haven't figured out why, she runs wild around the house whenever I'm putting the cutlery in the drawer.

favorite products

After some good runs and fun, Ivy gets tired and goes straight to the Cat H2O water source , which she loves.

The fountain was the best way to get her to drink running water frequently, and Dental Care bars are a great option to help take care of her teeth.

When I start to open the bag of food, Ivy knows it's time to eat and doesn't leave until I put the kibble in the bowl.

Ownat Grain Free Prime Sterilized is my choice since it was sterilized.

Since then, I've noticed that she doesn't need to eat so much to be satiated and at the gastric and intestinal level it has a good influence.

Ownat Grain Free Prime Sterilized - Chicken & Turkey

  • With 50% fresh meat.
  • High content of ingredients of animal origin with high protein content.
  • Low in carbohydrates.

To combat the well-known problem of hairballs, once a week I give Ivy the WeMalt Paste .

Fortunately it has very good results as she has never vomited hairballs.

All this makes Ivy a healthy, fun and happy kitten.

I never thought that a little black fur ball with yellow eyes was able to brighten my days so much!

In the future I hope to find you a company

Micha, Nicky & Sigmund

Submitted by info on Wed, 2022-08-17 17:24

It is with great pleasure that we start the section where we will introduce our customers .

And by customers we talk about our furry animals. Those who occupy our heart and destroy our home. Who we spend time playing with and try to give the best care.

This is the first family of bigeyes to be featured under this heading. The first of many!

Meet the bigeyes of the Soares family !

the big-legged family

There are currently 3 puppies living there:
The two kittens: Micha , 16 years old and Nicky , 3.
The dog Sigmund , which must be approximately 10 months old.

But the family was already much more numerous in furry friends!

The oldest – Micha the cat – has been with us since birth.
We took in his mother – the cat Bia – so that she could have a litter of 4 kittens.
We managed to find an owner for 2 of them and the rest – Micha and Ralf the cat – stayed with us, to be raised by our already resident kitten – Slippers.

the cat micha

We met Slippers on our wedding day and, having arrived from our honeymoon, we had to pick him up. Slippers soon adopted the 2 brothers and, later, also a new little dog – Porthus .

We welcomed the dog Porthus when the fall of a pine tree revealed its nest in the Pinhal de Ofir.

the porthus dog

At that date, the count at home was 4 cats and 1 dog.

The canids were at a disadvantage so the dog Uydo had to enter the picture: a medium-sized dog with a slight limp and who roamed the office in Braga, where I still work, looking for food and affection.

the bitch Uydo

The years went by and the moments of great happiness with our furry ones were accumulating, but the sadness and longing for the departure of some of them also happened.

With the departure of our Slippers, we welcome Jesse , the yellow kitten, and more recently Nicky the kitten (better known as Nick Picky Muffy Ricky).

Nicky the kitten

micha and jesse

The most recent member of the family is the dog Sigmund, from his full name Sigmund Cãobrito Maireles .

After a few months without my puppies Porthus and Uydo, who passed away last year at the age of 16, we had to adopt those energetic brown eyes that still gnaw our home today and make our hearts happy.

The jokes

Micha , at the age of 16, doesn't play games anymore – nor has she ever been. He prefers a warm and quiet lap to any other activity.

Nicky , on the other hand, is busy chasing flies and trying to catch birds. When she was younger she liked to play with paper balls but now she has no peace of mind because the canid Sigmund won't let her...

Micha and Nicky where they like to be the most – on the couch.

Sigmund plays for him and the cats. Tennis balls, soccer balls, ropes, cats… Everything that comes to the net is fish to play with. His energy never goes out, even when he runs 10km with me.

One of the places where Sigmund likes to play the most – the beach.

what do you like to eat

The kittens Micha and Nicky usually eat dry and, on special occasions, a few sachets.
As long as it's quality, they won't lose their appetite.

Gourmet Gold Pro Plan Cat Adult Sterilized Salmon

Sigmund starts to care more about food. In the first month, I ate out of necessity, but now the gluttony is noticeable.
However, he is concerned about eating healthy. He loves to steal and eat apples and has a recent taste for carrots!

Pro Plan Puppy Medium Sensitive Optiderma

  • Helps promote a healthy immune system.
  • Clinically proven to help support healthy skin.
  • Contains high quality salmon protein.

The Siamese Cat

Submitted by info on Tue, 2022-08-09 15:31

The Siamese is one of the most beloved and well-known cat breeds.

It has large, elegant blue eyes, a triangular face and pointed ears.

One of the most striking features is their loud meow, to attract attention and ask their owners for company.

Know some of the curiosities of this breed that we love so much!

provenance

It is believed that the Siamese cat comes from Southeast Asia, more specifically from Siam, in what is currently Thailand.

They were royal cats and kept in sacred temples.

In the 19th century, they were taken to England and from there they spread all over the world.

American President Rutherford was offered a Siamese cat, which made the breed one of the most popular in Europe and North America.

Today's Siamese cats are quite different compared to the original Siamese cat - currently known as Thai - being that this one was more massive and round, had green eyes, could be more cross-eyed and have a knot in the tail.

Features

Size:
Medium sized cat. He is usually thin but muscular.
The ideal weight of an adult Siamese is between 3 and 6 kg, and an average height of 20 cm.
Females weigh between 3 and 4 kg, while the male must weigh between 4 and 5 kg.

Eyes:
They are almond-shaped and usually have blue eyes.

Coat:
They have short and soft fur, easy to care for.
The color of the coat changes throughout life, with the final coat between 5 and 8 months of age.
When they are born they are white and as they grow they become darker at the ends – on the snout, tail, ears and paws.

Average life expectancy:
A Siamese usually lives between 15 and 20 years old.

Behavior

Gentlemen and Faithful:
As a rule, we think that cats are distant and independent animals.
But in Siamese cats these characteristics are not verified.
They are cats that constantly ask for the attention of their owners, being in most cases quite sociable and curious cats.

Acute Meow:
This is a cat who likes to express himself! As? Meowing.
The Siamese cat meows for a thousand reasons: either because he is happy and happy, or because he wants our attention, because he wants to eat, because we wake him up…
When it comes to a cat in heat, meowing can be even more annoying.
The owner of a Siamese has to be very patient and tolerant and not bother with his cat constantly “talking”.

Unpredictable Temperament:
We cannot forget that the Siamese is a cat attached to its owner, which can make it jealous and possessive.
It is important that we get our little friend used to living with other animals and dealing with other people from an early age.
In this way, we manage to attenuate the feeling of possession that you may feel for us.

Intelligence:
If we dedicate time to training our Siamese from a young age, being very affectionate, we can make him an obedient cat.
As it is quite intelligent, it easily learns tricks or even to walk on a leash.

Company Cat:
Siamese are cats that don't handle loneliness well.
If we have to leave him alone at home, it is important that he has toys, scratching posts or balls with food.
All these are options that will entertain you during the day.
Having accessories that smell like CATINIP – the grass that cats love – will help our cat to bond more with their toys and not focus on ruining curtains or sofas.

Health

Strabismus:
It is a condition that Siamese cats are affected more than other breeds.
Although quite visible, it does not affect the cat's vision.

Asthma:
Obese cats, and in particular Siamese cats, are more vulnerable to asthma.
We must treat them so that they do not have respiratory failure and, to prevent this, we must ensure that our cat is not in an environment with a lot of dust or smoke.

Fur Balls:
Despite being a short-haired cat, the Siamese is a cat whose fur sheds very often.
To prevent stomach problems resulting from the ingestion of hairballs, we must brush our cat regularly.

Heart disease:
It is common for Siamese cats to have a heart condition that is hereditary – dilated cardiomyopathy.
The ideal is to consult with our veterinarian, in order to monitor the problem and indicate an adequate diet.

hydration:
This is a problem that crosses all cats.
We must always pay attention to whether our cat drinks water regularly.
This is one of the measures that prevents our little friend from having urinary system problems.
To help, we can provide wet food regularly or even have a source so that there is always running water.
They love it and their health will thank you!

Castration:
If we don't want our cat to breed, neutering it is a good option.
This measure will help in other aspects of our animal's life:
- Makes male cats lose the habit of marking territory;
- Helps the females to stop being stressed and with a more unbearable meow, which usually happens at the time of estrus.

What kind of animal are we ideal owners for – Dog or Cat?

Submitted by info on Mon, 2022-08-08 11:41

Would they be better cat owners? Or would they have more availability for a dog?

There are people who have always had dogs as pets and who don't see themselves as cat owners.

There are those who are more inclined to have a feline at home and don't have time for a dog.

Then there are those who own dogs and cats and have a super family full of bigeyes!

It is important to be aware of our lifestyle and realize that we will make a dog or a feline happier!

When we adopt a new little friend, discover how to know if they will be the ideal owners for dogs or cats!

Time

Dog

The time we have available for our dogs is something to consider when adopting a new friend.

If we have a hectic pace of life that prevents us from being at home much of the day or even spending seasons outside, then having a dog may not be an option.

Dogs are emotionally dependent on their owners. They need attention, company, play and outdoor walks.

Spending a lot of time indoors can make our dog depressed or unload his energies on destroying the house!

Cat

Cats, on the other hand, are more independent animals and deal better with loneliness.

They spend their time alone at home and always have clean water and food available, a litter box to use, they are quite autonomous.

The breed of cat we choose is also important, as there are those that need more attention.

This is the case of the Siamese , which needs the presence of its owner and your attention.

Money

Dog

With dogs, spending on food and hygiene is higher.
They need to be bathed more often and if it is a dog with a lot of fur, trips to the clipping will be recurrent.
Returning to the topic of companionship, if we don't have time for our little friend, we will probably have to request pet sitting or dog walking services, thus increasing our monthly costs.

Cat

Our financial availability is also a very important aspect.
A cat generally has less monthly expenses than a dog.
In addition to food expenses, which are normally lower for felines,
Cats also don't need so much care, taking care of their own hygiene.

Lifestyle

The way we like to spend our free time should also influence the choice of our pet.

For independent or homely people who like to be quiet at home, the company of a cat is more appropriate.
There are also dogs that fit into this scenario, such as the French Bulldog or the Chihuahua , as these animals are calm and do not require much physical activity.

In case we like to exercise outdoors, an athletic dog can be a great companion and extra motivation.

There are also dogs that adapt more to large families and with children, as they are docile and playful.
Good examples of this are the Beagle and Labrador Retriever .

When we are looking for an animal that is also protective of our home, our choice must be a dog.
Examples of perfect breeds for home protection are the German Shepherd , the Belgian Shepherd and the Schnoodle which, despite being small, is always ready to defend its family.

french bulldog chihuahua beagle
Golden retriever German Shepherd schnoodle

Regardless of the animal we choose for our companion, what we must always keep in mind is that we must make them happy, never abandon them and give them love.

For all these faithful friends of ours need is for us to treat them with affection.

Golden retriever

Submitted by info on Fri, 2022-08-05 13:41

Who doesn't love Golden Retrievers?

From his friendliness to his ability to search, he is a beloved dog around the world.

Find out more about these bigeyes: how the breed came about, characteristics and main health care.

provenance

The Golden Retriever breed appeared in Great Britain in the 19th century, arising from a mixture of the Water Spaniel, Newfoundland and Irish Setter dog breeds.

It is said that the person responsible for the breed was Lord Tweedmouth.

At a time when there was a heightened interest in search dogs, Lord Tweedmouth made crosses to obtain a dog that could search dense vegetation, swim in cold water and perform rescues.

The Golden Retriever breed was then recognized in 1912.

With their departure to America, they became quite popular there.

First as a hunting dog and later as a pet, show dog and even competing in obedience trials.

Features

Size:
Male dogs of the breed usually measure between 56cm and 61cm and their weight varies between 26kg and 31kg.
Females of the breed measure between 51cm and 56cm and weigh between 25kg and 27kg.

Coat:
Their fur is golden or cream colored. It varies between smooth and wavy.
The undercoat is dense and waterproof.

Average life expectancy:
Golden Retrievers have an average life expectancy of between 10 and 13 years.

Behavior

It is one of the most beloved breeds by animal lovers, because they are so gentle.

They tend to be obedient and that's why they are an easy breed to train.

It is a dedicated, affectionate and very protective animal, which makes it an excellent family dog.

Also due to the fact that it is an intelligent breed, it is highly requested for roles as a rescue dog, therapy dog or even as a guide dog for blind people.

But there is one profession for which the Golden Retriever is not well suited: securing the home from strangers. This is because, even for people he doesn't know, he is usually very docile.

When we have a Golden Retriever we have to be aware that this is an energetic dog, so it needs to exercise daily.

He also doesn't like to be alone, so living in an apartment where he doesn't go out for a long time is not the ideal situation for this bigeye.

If we want a little friend of this breed at home, we have to be aware that we need to have time and energy for him.

Health

Overweight:
This is a dog that loves to eat, so it has a natural tendency to increase its weight, with sterilized animals suffering the most from the weight problem.
It is also necessary to be careful with their weight when our Golden is over 6 years old, as they tend to exercise less, which can increase their weight.
Excess weight can bring other problems, such as joint and cardiorespiratory problems.
So, in addition to them loving exercise, we should do it in order to control their weight and give them a good quality of life.

Joints:
This breed can suffer from hip and elbow dysplasia.
These joint problems can be hereditary and degenerative, which can cause pain to our little friend and make him walk strangely.

Heart disease:
Golden Retrievers tend to have a heart disease: dilated cardiomyopathy.
We must consult with our veterinarian and give our dog adequate food in order to prevent the onset of the disease.

eye problems:
Cataracts can be one of the problems that can appear in Golden Retrievers.
They are usually hereditary and can cause vision problems.

Other care that we must have with our bigeyes:

  • A beautiful and fragrant coat, with regular brushing and dry cleaning, gives our little friend a good appearance and health;
  • Half an hour of walking and daily sunbathing are the best for the longevity and well-being of animals of this breed;
  • Feed with characteristics that guarantee easy digestibility and prevent weight gain.

German Shepherd

Submitted by info on Wed, 2022-08-03 17:50

Nothing would make more sense than to start by talking about one of the most beloved races of all of us.

And proud owners we confess, because the German Shepherd is one of the most human-friendly breeds.

provenance

As the name implies, this is a breed from Germany.
This dog was used for herding flocks.
Nowadays, we see them being the dogs of choice to be guard dogs or even police dogs.

History

In Germany, in the 19th century, there were 3 varieties of herding dogs, which emerged through crosses between dogs and wolves.

At the end of that century, the first German shepherd club appeared, founded by a former German cavalry captain named Max von Stephanitz.
The club's first dog was chosen for his great work skills.
This first dog served as the primary breeder and role model for German Shepherd Dogs.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the breed began to be used as a police dog, and the Schutzhund test (IPO) was created to assess the quality of dogs for service.
Known as good messengers, scouts and porters, German shepherds served the German army in the first world war, having been successful with enemy armies, which took some copies at the end of the war.

Features

Size and Weight:
The German Shepherd is a large dog.
A male can measure between 60 and 65 cm and can weigh up to 40 kg.
Females, on the other hand, usually measure between 55 and 60 cm and weigh between 22 and 32 kg.

Color:
German Shepherds often have dark or almond-shaped eyes.
Their coat colors can vary from reddish with a black cape, completely black or with a “gray-gray” color.

Coat:
The most common are short-haired, and there are also long-haired German Shepherds.

Temperament:
It is known for being an attentive, confident, self-confident, balanced and intelligent dog.
It is considered one of the easiest breeds to train, a good dog for a family where there are children and even other dogs.
Dog is suspicious of strangers and is always alert, which makes him a good guard dog.

Average age of life:
A German Shepherd can reach, on average, 13 years of age.

We can therefore say that, within the German Shepherd, there are 3 recognized breeds:

German Shorthaired Shepherd
beauty line
Longhaired German Shepherd
beauty line
German Shepherd Wolf
Line of Work

Activity

This is a very energetic dog, so we must be aware that having a German Shepherd at home means that he will need to spend a lot of energy during the day.

If you stay at home all day, you are likely to engage in activities that are not to our liking, such as chewing furniture, digging holes in the backyard,…!

It is important to be aware that a dog of this size needs exercise, in order to spend the accumulated energy.

There are sports that are specific to this type of dog:

  • Schutzhund , is a sport where dogs have to overcome various challenges that put their physical and olfactory abilities to the test,

  • Agility , where the dogs have to complete a course as quickly as possible, passing through tunnels, jumping fences, among other things.

These are activities that contribute to the physical and mental development of this breed.

If we have an outdoor space where he can be and play, even better.

Walking or jogging with our dogs will also increase our closeness with our puppies, making them associate the time they spend with us with their favorite time of day.

Health

There are some problems common to German Shepherds that we should be aware of.

A common problem not only for German Shepherds but for large dogs is stomach twisting .
To prevent the occurrence of the problem, we should not let dogs do a lot of physical activity right after eating. In the same way, it is not advisable to eat right after having done some kind of activity.
Nor should we give too much at once. The best thing is to divide the dog's daily dose into 2/3 times and give it at different times of the day.

Other problems that appear frequently in German Shepherds are hip and elbow dysplasia and joint problems . To reduce the risk of these problems, we must always pay attention to the weight of our dogs, as heavy dogs are more likely to develop joint problems.

In case of dysplasias we must give supplements that help to protect the joints, in order to improve the quality of life of our German Shepherd, and reduce the physical activity of our animal. Long walks or runs are not advisable for dogs with these problems. We should take shorter walks and on a flatter path.

We must also pay attention to the possible appearance of skin diseases . One way to try to reduce this risk is to bathe less frequently, in order to prevent the skin from losing its natural oiliness. It is also essential to brush frequently, daily if possible, to remove the dog's dead fur.

Another care to be taken, common to any dog, is its oral hygiene .
Although undervalued by owners, dental plaque and bad breath often pose problems for the health of dogs.
We must be aware that regular oral hygiene reduces the risk of problems in the mouth, such as periodontal disease, which, in addition to affecting the teeth, can extend to other organs, such as the kidneys, heart or liver.
Daily brushing is the most effective method of preventing the development of plaque and the formation of tartar. But to be able to brush our dogs teeth, we must start from a young age, so that they get used to being moved in their mouths from an early age.
An alternative to washing can be gel products, sticks and snacks that help with hygiene and are easier to please our animals.

famous dogs

It was on screens that German shepherds were most prominent. Its ability to learn made it one of the most chosen breeds to participate in series and movies.

One of the most famous series, where the main protagonist was a German shepherd, was the Austrian series: Rex, the police dog .

Also in Portugal, a series with a very similar format was successful and highlighted the German shepherd: Inspector Max .

Much older, still in the 1920s, the first famous German Shepherd Dog appeared: Rin-Tin-Tin .
He was rescued and trained by the American Lee Duncan, who later had his dog chosen to participate in several films. He later ended up having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Bowie, Murphy & Bjork

Submitted by info on Wed, 2022-08-03 15:51

We love meeting our furriest customers!

This is the story of 3 adopted kittens who became music stars! From home, of course!

Meet our little friends Bowie, Murphy and Bjork and how their lives intersected.

Bowie tells us how it all happened.

Me the bowie

” My early life was not the best… But soon, everything went well!

I was abandoned in a paper crate with my baby brothers outside a veterinary clinic.

At the clinic they collected them and immediately tried to find a family for adoption.

The day didn't take long when a couple showed up who as soon as they saw me wanted to adopt me right away!

I was very little, I even needed help to get on the couch, but I was always very, very curious!

Not a single corner escaped me to explore!

The murphy

” A year later, during a trip to the vet to give me a vaccine, I met one of my brothers.

The only one that hadn't been adopted.

It was returned three times and lived most of the year in the clinic confined to the space of a cage.

Taking pity on him, my owners thought it would be good for me to have company and so they increased the family by one more member.

He's not an adventurer like me, he gets scared easily and runs away from everything!

Even the shadow itself!!

But I really like to play with him, there isn't a day that doesn't have irons and treats exchanged "

To Bjork

” In the same year, in winter, on a rainy day they brought home a baby kitten they found on the street!

It smelled like car oil and they wouldn't let us near her.

I was still getting over having to share space and food with my brother and they were already bringing another baby home??

I didn't like it… I was annoyed!

But as soon as I got to know her better I started pampering her like the little sister!! She is the most sociable of the 3!

She is always very pampered, comes to our feet and fills us with kisses so she can curl up to sleep!! "

The new house

” After a few months we moved to a house with outside space.

Our owners took us through the space on leashes until they finally let us roam free.

We love walking with them and seeing what they are doing!

Murphy's the only one who doesn't stray too far from the house.

Bjork is the one who ventures the most to explore other terrains.

I like to be around, I love hunting and playing with my brothers. "

Our favorites

Now, in addition to the sand that smells like talcum powder inside the house, we also have a whole outdoor space where we love to mark our territory”

We usually eat food for sterilized kittens! But every now and then we get a delicious wet meal to get rid of the turkey, salmon or chicken-flavored dry foods!”

“Once a week they give us a delicious paste for the hairballs in our paws and once a month they put a liquid on the back of our necks, which they say is good for us so we don't get pets!“

“What I really don't like is a tablet they give us every 3 months… blargh! It tastes really bad, it's a save yourself who can, each to their own corner!!!,

But worse, despite being only once a year, are the trips to the vet to get the vaccine…

But deep down we know it's all for our well being!

We're a happy family! Meow! "

Differences between Dogs and Cats

Submitted by info on Wed, 2022-07-27 18:31

They are the most common pets. Therefore, comparisons between them are inevitable!

We already know that one barks, the other meows! One bites and the other scratches!

Discover some more of the characteristics that distinguish them.

Independence

Most dogs are quite submissive to their owners. He likes your attention and shows affection with extreme ease.

On the other hand, cats, despite recognizing their owners, are more independent and do not show their affection so readily, only if they are in a good mood!

Skills

Both have good physical abilities for hunting.

Dogs stand out for their ability to search and search. They have an excellent sense of smell and hearing that allow them to be excellent stalkers of their prey or in search of rescue.

Cats have night vision, good hearing and a good sense of smell. They are fast, with great flexibility and the ability to run and jump.

Training

Both species can be trained.

Dogs are more easily trained. Easily learn commands like sit , lay down or paw

It is also possible to train cats. We should use positive reinforcement as a training method, as cats are very sensitive to being punished.

Food

Dogs are carnivores. They need meat to live but they also eat vegetables. They can resist fasting, using their reserves, and are very gluttonous, they eat whenever they have food.

Cats are already just carnivores. Eating meat is essential to your life. Fasting can put your life at risk and you only eat when you are hungry.

Activity Periods

Dogs prefer to sleep at night, cats like to sleep during the day.

The cat has more nocturnal habits, due to its feline nature. Your time to hunt is at night. Even a domestic cat, despite not having the need to hunt, is most active at night.

Hygiene

A dog does not have great hygiene concerns and loves to get dirty. We only have to let our dog out after bathing in the garden to see the pleasure he has in getting dirty straight away!

Cats are extremely clean creatures. They take care of themselves daily by licking themselves, thus removing dead hair and parasites.

There are also tests that do not require physical effort, but that value the physical attributes of the bigeyes.

The objective is to choose the most beautiful dog taking into account the characteristics of its breed.

Actor

Dogs have long been playing catch-up. The first world-renowned actor dog was Rin-Tin-Tin, who in the 20s and 30s became a movie star.

After him, there were several bigeyes featured in movies and series. Who has never seen Bethoven, the cutest Saint Bernard or Rex, the police dog, who solved crimes with one paw behind his back!

caregiver

There are jobs for dogs with a very humane side and they become essential for their owners.

We have guide dogs that end up being the eyes of their owners. And there are those who are the company of people with epilepsy and are trained to help them in case of need.

Therapist

Zootherapy is an increasingly common therapy approach serving as medical care. It consists of training dogs and making them able to accompany people with cancer, in the terminal phase, with suicidal and depressive tendencies, children with autism or even elderly people.

The only function of the dog is to make people feel better, having to be a calm dog and like to receive a lot of affection.

Shepherd

It is a very common function for some breeds of dogs, which is to take the cattle from one place to another and to gather them. The dog does not need specific training, as it is born with this ability.

As the name implies, sheepdogs such as the German, English and Australian Shepherd are great breeds for this role. Also the Border Collie is one of the favorite breeds for herding.

Hunter

Dogs are also used as hunting companions for their owners, with the function of fetching prey that has already been killed.

They are trained to bring prey to its owner without being tempted to eat it first.

The most used breeds for hunting are Hounds, Beagles, Terriers and similar breeds.

A dog with a profession is a happy dog!
